There are so many technological advances and so many acronyms in regards to computers that it is sometimes difficult to
stay ahead of the slang and gadgets. We are going to cover and briefly describe just a few.

Open-source software also known as OSS is software that is available in source code form that is generally licensed to be able to share with others, and the ability to create modifications in the software. It also considered quite cost efficient. Value is found in the OSS software in places such as: security, affordability, transparency, and localization. It is believed that defects and security flaws are found much quicker with OSS. The greatest penetration has been in the business market because of the competitive advantages.

Another area is in the 3D arena. Most of the PC’s can handle 3D, due to the crossover into web and product designs and individual entertainment due to the need to stay competitive. Since the competitiveness of the graphic card market it has allowed an improved cost ability to the consumer of the 3D market.

Web design is an important part of browsing the Internet, and when it comes to the construction of those sites it is done by either talented designers or individuals utilizing established templates. A thing to keep in mind is to assess your needs. Will you be able to maintain the site or will you need a firm to do that for you? If you choose to use a designer make sure to research the designers work potential, portfolios, fees, and their individual design sense. Evaluate their services based on proven success rates for other companies in your niche target market.

Lastly, take the time to check their references or attend online classes. You want to ensure that they are diligent in regards to making deadlines, answering requests, or responding to suggestions, and how cooperative they are when it comes to fixing any issues with the site.
